I'm an on-location, natural light photographer capturing the best of life and love, and enjoying every minute of it!

I hear over and over that you should “specialize” in the industry to be "successful". But I know in my heart that I am not meant to do just one form of photography. I love variety! I love new people, new vistas, new emotions, and new challenges. I love finding the best light and determining the composition for each shot. So basically I like everything, which works great for me in this career! I've never been good at following artistic rules anyway :)

This is the section that my coach told me that I need spend the most time writing. It's hard to write about yourself - for some reason we are taught its egotistical and just plain wrong, but here goes...

... A little about why I love photography:

What I really love about the art is that I am allowed to preserve a special experience for someone. What better thing than to capture a life at an extraordinary moment in time?

I enjoy hearing from clients about how my images have moved them. It is wonderful to be able to connect to someone through the medium of photography...to have the ability to make a simple subject — be it a person, a scene, an event or an object — look lovely and artful. It is such a reward!

And I am passionate about composing the shot. Determining the angle, the shadows and that 'just right' dramatic play of light when creating a specific image is always fun and challenging — and it brings me great joy!

Lastly, I truly enjoy working with all types of people. My degree is in psychology —the study of human relationships — and through my photography, I am able to explore the human experience.

... A little bit about what else I love:

I love my family more than anything. I love my friends. I love coffee. I love traveling. I love finding the "light" in a room when creating an image. I love hiking. I love camping. I love wine. I love yoga. I love nature. I love a good book. I love laughter. I love a good winter's storm. I love the fragrance of warm chocolate chip cookies. I love learning. I love empowering others. I love art. I love gourmet dining. I love anything spiritual. I love decorating & design.....

... A little bit about my background:

I first picked up a camera in 1991, and I began winning awards immediately. I shot my first wedding in 1999, and I haven't looked back. Taking photographs is a natural process for me, and I enjoy every minute of it. It is my passion!

I believe it's important to better myself and my business on a regular basis. In order to do so, I attend two or three photography workshops and seminars a year. They help me to improve on my photography skills and broaden my creative vision, as well as help me to bring you the latest and best trends in the industry. I have worked with and learned from some of the world's best photographers to date. If you'd like to know who, just ask me.

I am an artist who loves to create beautiful images, and I'd be honored to do this for you! -Sara
